Reality star Savannah Chrisley is guest-hosting this week while Alyssa Farah Griffin enjoys maternity leave after welcoming her first child. Unlike the majority of the hosts of the ABC talk show, Savannah Chrisley is a staunch supporter of President Trump and his administration.
During the discussion about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s drug claims, she was one of the few at the table who defended his words. She blasted the media headlines for focusing on his claim of snorting cocaine off toilet seats instead of focusing on his sobriety.
“The headline was what the media wanted, ‘snorting cocaine off a toilet seat.’ They didn’t hit on 40 years of sobriety, and how hard that is to get to and how 50 million Americans struggle with addiction,” Savannah Chrisley said. Several members of the audience clapped in agreement, prompting Joy Behar to rudely ask, “These girls are clapping, are you addicted?”
Whoopi Goldberg Opens Up About Drug-Fueled Past
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been more than open about his drug addiction and recovery. He attends meetings every week. Whoopi Goldberg can surprisingly relate to the struggle. She admitted in her 2024 memoir to battling a cocaine addiction during the 1980s.
She made reference to her drug-fueled past during the discussion about RFK Jr. “You know, I’ve walked that path. I have walked that path, and yeah, it is very hard to sometimes clean up, and to get the help you need. It would be helpful if, as the czar, he put some money into a lot of programs that could be helpful,” she said.
After Whoopi’s candid admission, Joy Behar chimed in, wanting to ask a question about her co-host’s addiction. Whoopi Goldberg shut that down with a simple “No” before heading into commercial break.
