Woods is a professional golfer who started his career in 1996 at the age of 20. Since then, he has gone on to hold numerous golf records.
This includes having the title of number one player in the world for the most consecutive weeks of any other golfer. Woods has also been awarded the PGA Player of the Year at least 11 times.
Reports have come out that Woods was involved in a car crash in Florida on Friday. The story was confirmed by local law enforcement.
Details concerning the accident have not been released at this time. However, an eyewitness told TMZ Sports that two cars appeared to be involved. At the time, it didn’t appear that anyone was seriously injured. A witness saw Tiger on the scene, and he appeared to be alright.
Woods Nearly Lost A Leg Following A Car Crash Back In 2021
According to the outlet, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office claimed that the crash occurred on Beach Road on Jupiter Island. Woods has lived in Jupiter for over a decade.
A WPTV report shared an image from the scene, which showed an SUV lying on the driver’s side, as well as a flat-bed truck. The image had later appeared in media reports of the story.
This news also comes out amid speculation that Woods could return to the Masters tournament in Augusta next month. The golfer is currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered just over a year ago. He also underwent back surgery late last year. However, this week he competed in the TGL finals for his Jupiter Links GC team.
As the outlet noted, the accident follows a terrifying accident, another car crash, that Woods endured back in February 2021. He endured severe injuries and nearly lost a leg. This crash was later ruled by law enforcement to have been caused by excessive speed.
At this time, the investigation into the more recent crash is believed to be underway. More details are expected to be confirmed by law enforcement.
In a later update to the story, TMZ shared that Woods had been arrested “for DUI in Florida.” The outlet also shared his mugshot on social media.
