Another resurfaced clip from 2025 captured Chalamet reflecting on his ballet background while promoting the movie “Marty Supreme” in an interview. In the video, shared on X, Chalamet explained that he grew up backstage at the New York City Ballet.
“My grandmother danced in the New York City Ballet, my mother danced in the New York City Ballet. My sister danced in the New York City Ballet,” Chalamet said. “I grew up dreaming big backstage at the Koch Theatre in New York.”
When asked if his deep connection to the performing arts had influenced his career, Chalamet had a positive response. “Hugely! Doja Cat wasn’t alone in her thoughts, with The Blast reporting that the panelists on “The View” also fired shots at Chalamet. Co-host Sunny Hostin expressed her disappointment in the actor, noting that she never realized he was “that shallow.”
Sheryl Underwood, who appeared as a guest panelist on the episode, believed Chalamet spoke without considering the consequences. The outrage against the TV personality began during a conversation with Matthew McConaughey about the need to promote movie theaters.
