Copeland continued that it was important to acknowledge that opera and ballet had become performing arts that were not as popular or a part of pop culture as movies were. Nonetheless, their relevance and culture had not dwindled. She threw shade at Chalamet, saying:
“It’s often mistaken when something is popular that it’s more meaningful or more impactful.”
