Al Roker has been on the Today Show for three decades. He has seen and heard a lot of things in his time on the talk show. But he was flabbergasted when he was told about a billboard in New Jersey sporting his name. His co-hosts are “investigating” the mysterious sign in New Jersey about the weatherman.
New Jersey Billboard Calls Out Al Roker
Things at the Today Show have been tense and emotional since Savannah Guthrie’s sudden departure. She temporarily left the show in early February after her mother went missing. Arizona police suspect that Nancy Guthrie, 84, was abducted from her home. But they don’t know why or where she is.
With the weight of their co-worker’s grief, the Today hosts brought up a lighter, mysterious topic on Friday’s episode. “Uncle Al, I don’t know if you even know about this at all,” Carson Daly began. He revealed that there’s a random billboard in New Jersey with Al Roker’s name on it.
“Things we can all agree on: Al Roker,” the billboard off Route 17 in Bergen County, New Jersey reads. “The second part of it is, ‘Dot, dot, dot, is a jerk,’” Al Roker joked about what the rest of the billboard might say. His co-hosts laughed at the joke, but Craig Melvin made it clear that the sign definitely didn’t say that or anything else, in fact.

Today Hosts ‘Investigating’ Mysterious Roadside Attraction
Someone out there is a huge fan of Al Roker and wants the world to know it. The Today hosts are determined to get to the bottom of the mysterious billboard. Craig Melvin said the show had “calls out” to find out more information. Hoda Kotb, who has been filling in for Savannah Guthrie, assured Al Roker that they’re “investigating” the billboard.
Carson Daly asked the weatherman if he knew anyone from the area in New Jersey. Al Roker responded, “No. I still always love the Tick Tock Diner off Route 3. It had that clock that said ‘eat heavy.’”
The billboard was brought up again in the show’s third hour. Al Roker suggested it could be some kind of prank.
Fans Sound Off On Longtime Weatherman
While the reason for the billboard remains a mystery, Carson Daly co-signed the message. He said, “I thought it was nice, though, because the sentiment is right. Like, it’s kind of a crazy world right now, but you’re sort of at the epicenter of calm.”
Other Today Show fans took to social media to share their love for Al Roker.
