He was interviewing Anya Taylor Joy, who is going to be in the new The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. However, one question he asked her in particular did not sit right with fans. Craig Melvin Stays Back, Misses Great Opportunity
Craig Melvin has been a part of The Today Show since 2018. However, he was able to replace Hoda Kotb and be Savannah Guthrie’s co-host in the first two hours of the morning program. However, he recently missed out on a big opportunity. He and Savannah were supposed to go to Milan for the Olympics. However, Savannah backed out after her mother, Nancy, went missing. Craig ended up staying back, too. It is unknown why he did not go alone or take another host with him. However, he covered the sports from the usual spot.
He’s Slammed For Asking Movie Star ‘Stupid’ Question
Craig Melvin was interviewing Anya Taylor Joy. She is playing Princess Peach in the new Super Mario movie. However, she is also rumored to be playing Joni Mitchell in a film. Craig asked an odd question. He asked what the connection between Princess Peach and Joni Mitchell was. However, Anya could not compare the two, and there was no connection. Fans thought this question was dumb.
- “Honestly, a really solid response to a ridiculous question. Anya is a true movie star,”
- “Sentences have been formed that have never been formed before,”
- “What a stupid question to ask lol embarrassing”
- “What’s the connection between his brain and wallpaper paste? 🙄 Stupidest questions EVER. Kudos to Anya for not throwing her shoe at him 🤣”
Well, fans were not impressed with his questions during this interview. However, Anya did have a good response to it.
It seems as though fans did not understand why Craig would have asked Anya that question. They thought it was idiotic and didn’t get it. However, some viewers defended him by admitting that no one had asked that kind of question before. He was coming up with his own, and it did not seem to do too great for him. Anya admitted that you could not compare the two whatsoever.
