Audiences saw Hoda Kotb leave Today earlier this year. However, it’s recently been announced that she will be teaming up with some familiar faces, including Al Roker, in an upcoming gig. In fact, a few other big names are attached to what’s happening.
Hoda Kotb Will Reunite With A Few Of Her Today Colleagues
For many, Kotb became known for her work with NBC’s Today. Starting in 2007, she served as a co-host for the show’s fourth hour. By 2018, she also became a co-anchor for Today, initially paired with Savannah Guthrie.
In late September 2024, it was announced that Kotb would be stepping down from the show. Her last day was on January 10, 2025, though it was believed she would remain with NBC in some unspecified role.
Since then, Kotb has been part of a number of ventures and projects. Recently, it was announced that she will team up with some Today colleagues for an upcoming event.
According to TV Insider, Kotb will reunite with Al Roker to co-host the 137th Rose Parade on Thursday, January 1, 2026, for NBC. Craig Melvin will also make his Rose Parade debut.

This will mark Kotb’s 11th year hosting the event. For Roker, this will be his 27th year leading the broadcast.
The parade, a New Year’s tradition in Pasadena, California, has a long history with the network, being covered for the past 99 years. NBC’s first coverage of the event was on the radio back in 1927. The parade’s coverage had its television debut with the network in 1954.
The parade will be simulcast on Peacock and air on Telemundo from 8 AM to 10 AM PT. Hoy Día hosts Penelope Menchaca and Carlos Calderon will lead the Telemundo broadcast.
Craig Melvin Also Shared His Excitement Over The Event On Social Media
The event is expected to feature 39 rose-covered floats. Nearly 1,000 Tournament of Roses members have come together to work on the project, dedicating more than 80,000 hours to help put on a show. There will also be equestrian teams and marching bands from around the world.
In a press release, NBC shared, “This year’s masterpiece floral floats will span up to 75 feet long and 35 feet high, featuring effects such as pyrotechnics, smoke, waterfalls, streamers, and bubbles. The parade will begin with a majestic B-2 Spirit flyover, followed by hundreds of energetic performers, including the famous Rose Queen and her Rose Court.”

Other big names have already been attached to the event. NBA legend Magic Johnson will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal. DEK of Hearts of The Voice fame are also set to perform during the event’s grand finale.
Melvin also recently took to Instagram to share his excitement over the upcoming event. In a post, he shared, “Exciting news! I am looking forward to joining @hodakotb and @alroker at the Rose Parade this year. Watch on January 1 on @nbc and @peacock.”
