Jenna Bush Hager Could Be Seen Tearing Up Towards The Start Of A Recent Episode Of Today
Jenna Bush Hager and her fraternal twin sister Barbara became known to many as the daughters of the 43rd U.S. president George W. Bush. Forging a career in broadcast journalism, she currently co-hosts the fourth hour of Today.
Throughout her time on the show, Jenna has worked with multiple figures, including various co-hosts. Recently on the show, she saw one Today alum make a return.
As Today fans know, Savannah Guthrie recently stepped away from the series following the disappearance of her mother, Nancy, earlier this year. This even included her stepping away from her planned role covering the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Throughout this time, Jenna has shown support for her fellow Today co-worker. As previously reported, she had helped host a vigil in honor of Nancy Guthrie, noting that she and Savannah attended the same church.
Sheinelle Jones Also Shared A Message For Savannah Guthrie During The Broadcast
During the start of a recent episode, Hager was emotional as she shared that Savannah stopped by Studio 1A in New York City to thank her colleagues for their support during this time. At the time, Jenna shared, “Savannah has come back to her home here at 30 Rock in Studio 1A.”
Jenna could be seen in tears as she shared the story. She continued, “We got to see her this morning, and in her perfect way, she talked to all of us, hugged every single person in this room, the crew.”

As previously reported, fans had wondered if Savannah would return to the show, feeling that she was in a good place to leave. For her part, however, Hager shared, “She said that she has the intention to return to the show.”
“Even though it feels like the hardest thing to do, it’s also her home and where she feels so loved. And she is beyond loved here. And so, we’re happy that she is home. I don’t know when she’s actually returning to the show, but she was here, and that felt so good to get to hug her.”
During the share, Sheinelle Jones also praised Savannah’s strength. Adding, “Everyone loves you,” Jones assured Savannah that everyone would be “here” when she was ready to return.
As noted by People, a spokesperson for Today also shared that Savannah plans to return to the program. However, a return date has not been shared at this time.
