There was an intriguing trade made in the Professional Women’s Hockey League on Monday. The Seattle Torrent have traded forward Jessie Eldridge of Barrie, Ontario to the Boston Fleet for Austrian forward Theresa Schafzahl according to the PWHL website.
Eldridge is joining her third PWHL franchise. She previously played two seasons with the New York Sirens in 2024 and again in 2024-25, and this season with the Torrent.
In 19 games with Seattle this season, Eldridge has seven goals and six assists for 13 points. She is a -5 with four penalty minutes, three faceoff wins, two power-play goals, 10 blocked shots, and 45 shots on goal.
Throughout Eldridge’s career, she has 23 goals and 28 assists for 51 points in 73 games. She is a -14 with 32 penalty minutes, three faceoff wins, eight power-play goals, three game-winning goals, two shootout goals, 31 blocked shots, and 204 shots on goal. The two shootout goes came in a 3-2 Sirens win over the Minnesota Frost on January 15, 2025. Schafzahl has two goals and four assists for six points with the Fleet this season.
The Fleet are currently the best team in the PWHL. They have a record of nine regulation wins, five wins in extra time, two losses in extra time and three regulation losses for 39 points.
