Travel Nevada and tourism partners from across the state are in Canada this week to connect with trade partners and to keep the destination top of mind during a time when visitation has slowed down.
“We know that the Canadian market at the moment is taking a little pause, but we are here to continue to be present,” shared Elsa Gomez, global market manager for Travel Nevada, during a lunch event at the Old Mill in Toronto yesterday. “We are ready when they are, we’re here to support. We’re here to express our appreciation and we’re grateful that they’re allowing us to come and promote the destination because we don’t want to be out of sight, out of mind. Our message is we’re open and we’re ready when you are.”
While visitation from Canada dropped 24.9 per cent in 2025, Gomez noted that 800,000 Canadians still travelled to Nevada last year. Following the lunch event, the group met with 80 travel advisors for an evening gathering. The delegation is also visiting Montreal and Calgary this week as part of the road show.
“We’ve got a full 10 days almost in Canada so there’s a big commitment from the partners that are here,” added Tracy Zeisberger, associate, Canada, for Canuckiwi, which represents Travel Nevada in the market. “While we’re down, it’s still 800,000 people coming to the state — it’s not a small number.”
While many visitors head to Vegas or Reno, Nevada is also known for its natural side with 27 State Parks, 1 National Park, 300 hot springs, dark sky viewing, mountains, hiking trails and more.

From aliens to cowboys to trips based on discovering art, Gomez said they’ve developed a map of 10 potential road trips for travellers to follow based on their interests.
“There’s so much to explore,” she said, adding that the Neon to Nature trip is one of the most popular routes since it maps out places that are within a few hours of The Strip. “It is very popular because it hits just the two hour vicinity of the city and it goes through Mesquite, Boulder City, Laughlin and Moapa Valley. Popular too is the extraterrestrial for those folks who are all about aliens.”
Notably, Gomez also highlighted that the agent training portal is currently being revamped.
Also on hand for the event were: B’Anka Neder, Las Vegas Territory; Kathy Kelly, Taste Buzz Food Tours & Buzzy Brand Vegas Tours; Denise Graham, Lake Tahoe Travel & Visit Reno Tahoe; Cherie Westbrook, LVCVA Southern Nevada Region; Autumn Eisenbarth, Reno Tahoe Territory; Jane Moon, Visit Fallon and Alessandro Levaccchia, Bramer Tours.
