Charlie Davis was recently in for a surprise during the latest episode of Survivor 50. The series alum recently sat down for an interview, where he shared a few things he learned about his fellow castaways. In particular, he claimed that two made an alliance even before getting to the island.
Charlie Davis Joined Survivor 50 After Previously Appearing On Survivor 46
Davis became known to many from Survivor 46. During this time, he formed a partnership with Maria Shrime Gonzalez, which helped orchestrate multiple eliminations during the season. The Boston native ended up the season’s runner-up, with Kenzie Petty as the winner.
Recently, Davis joined the cast of Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans. To honor the show’s 25th anniversary, this season features a lot of elements chosen by fans, as selected by a public vote.
After being voted out this past Wednesday’s episode, Davis sat down with Page Six about some of the castaways who voted him out. He claimed that Dee Valladares and Rizo Velovic previously made an alliance. He even claimed it was formed before the game started.
During the interview, Davis claimed, “Dee had a FaceTime before the season with Rizo.” However, he shared that he didn’t have time to prepare against it, as “I learned that obviously after the fact.”
Savannah Louie, the Sole Survivor of Survivor 49, who returned this season, allegedly told him that castaway Sophi Balerdi connected Velovic with Valladares before the game started. Reportedly, Balerdi is also close with Velovic, who also competed on Season 49.

Davis Shared A Reason That Made Valladares’ Vote Especially Shocking
Davis noted, “So I think that probably played into it, too. Because if I were Dee, I’d be like, ‘Oh wow. I have this like pre-game relationship with Rizo. And no one else has that because no one else would have any way of, like, getting in touch with him. Or knowing he was on 50.’”
During this current season, Davis clashed with Velovic before being voted out by Rizo, as well as Valladares, Cirie Fields and Kamilla Karthigesu. However, Davis claimed that he and Velovic clashed for reasons not seen on television. He continued, “I viewed him as someone who…Basically, once he becomes a known quantity, the reason for targeting him almost disappears.”
Claiming he didn’t really know how Rizo “played,” he felt that this would mean that there would “be the least ripple effects taking him out.” However, he soon got caught off guard by Velovic’s alliances.
In addition, Davis was surprised to have been voted out by Valladares, noting that he protected her on their original tribe. As the outlet noted, he shared, “There was definitely talk about getting Dee out on Kalo, like coming from Chrissy [Hofbeck] and like all of that. So she was not, like, unscathed. But I mean, for one of the Kalo people to go home at that beach, it had to be Kalo. Turning on each other. And I didn’t want to turn on Dee. So, I wasn’t surprised that she wasn’t targeted there.”
