The joy of clinching the Asia Cup 2025 title was magnified by the chance to playfully mock arch-rivals Pakistan, a task eagerly taken up by India’s young stars. Immediately following the thrilling five-wicket victory in the final, pacer Arshdeep Singh took to social media, giving fans an unprecedented look at the team’s banter. Featuring Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep orchestrated a series of humorous videos. The clips centered on mimicking a viral meme, turning a broken English phrase into a cheeky, celebratory jibe.

Arshdeep cleverly used a famous social media meme, known for its funny use of broken English, to playfully mock the Pakistan team and celebrate his teammates’ stellar performances throughout the Asia Cup.

Arshdeep Singh shared a series of multiple videos on his official Instagram account, featuring himself, Tilak, Abhishek and Kuldeep, all designed to mock the Pakistan team and celebrate the Asia Cup victory. The central theme of the videos was a hilarious recreation of a viral interview from the Bangladesh Premier League, where a confused presenter asked a question in poor English: “Final match, you perform. What happening?”

Arshdeep first directed the line to the match-winner, Tilak , who scored an unbeaten 69 in the final: “Final match, you perform. What happening?” Tilak initially responded with a deadpan face, mirroring the meme’s style: “Nothing happening. There is no one to say. The ground is empty,” before happily adding, “Lot of happening. Winning, celebration and a lot of happening.”

Arshdeep then asked the same question to Abhishek, who had performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament but had a less impactful final: “Full tournament you perform, what happening?” Abhishek responded with a self-aware grin, acknowledging the performance variation: “Good happening. Final match, sometimes bad happening.”

Finally, Arshdeep quizzed bowler Kuldeep, who took a game-changing four-wicket haul, who replied simply: “What happening? Happening good.” This viral banter, complete with the players playfully mimicking the accent of the rival team, served as a humorous way for the young Indian players to express their triumphant feeling and national pride.

India’s Asia Cup 2025 final dominance against Pakistan in Dubai

The post-match dressing room banter extended beyond the viral meme to specific acts of mimicry, highlighting the Indian team’s confidence after securing a dominant, clean-sweep victory over their rivals. In a separate instance of light-hearted mockery, Arshdeep, along with teammates Harshit Rana and Jitesh Sharma, were captured trolling Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed. The Indian players were seen imitating Abrar’s distinctive celebration style in one of the videos shared on social media, taking a subtle but pointed dig at the rival player following the victory.

This act of mimicry showcased the complete dominance of the Indian side, which secured their second T20I Asia Cup and overall ninth title, defeating Pakistan in a nail-biting final. The final was the culmination of a streak where India defeated Pakistan three times in the Asia Cup 2025 tournament, with the previous wins coming in the Group Stage and the Super 4 Stage.

India’s success was fundamentally built on a strong bowling performance that managed to restrict the Pakistan team to a modest total of 146 runs in the high-pressure final. Tilak’s unbeaten knock of 69 not out was the anchor, and his composure was the key difference, guiding the Men in Blue to chase the 147-run target with just two balls remaining. Tilak’s match-sealing heroics, including a decisive six off Haris Rauf in the final over, settled the nerves and secured the thrilling five-wicket victory for India.
