She is colder than ice and the UK Trailer from the BFI for The Ice Tower starring Maron Cotillard and Clara Pacini is truly ‘ice cold’.
This one is from French filmmaker Lucile Hadžihalilović (Earwig, Evolution) and if you you have seen her previous films, this won’t be for everyone. You can call this fantasy drama a arthouse film, which also experimental take on the Hans Christian Andersen‘s The Snow Queen. This looks very dream like and whilst it might be lightweight on plot wise, it does look like it might also be inspired by the master of mystery, Alfred Hitchcock!
The Ice Tower is set in the 1970’s. Young woman Jeanne (Pacini) is running away from home, who seems to become fascinated with actress Cristina (Cotillard), the star of The Snow Queen.
This one also stars August Diehl, Dounia Sichov, and filmmaker Gaspar Noé who just happens to be the director’s husband.
