BEYOND THE STREETS has dropped the trailer for Dead City Punx, their latest documentary. The film, which is co-produced by Rage Against the Machine‘s Zack de la Rocha, follows Dead City Punx, who are reviving LA’s punk scene through unauthorized outdoor shows that include fireworks, fistfights, bonfires, and graffiti. Despite the band’s shows being raided by the LAPD, LAFD, and city officials, the doc encourages viewers to rethink what DIY and punk truly mean in those moments.
The band, composed of Meka, Grumpy, Mike, and Adrian, use stolen gear to perform with, build makeshift illegal stages, and use social media as a tool to rally audiences together. With fan-shot footage and exclusive interviews, Dead City Punx explores how four outsiders ignited a pandemic-era music uprising in LA.
