While Australia appeared to be regaining control, Varun Chakaravarthy produced a moment of brilliance that turned heads. The Tamil Nadu spinner, known for his deceptive variations, bowled a stunning googly to dismiss Mitchell Owen on the third ball of the ninth over. Owen had no clue. It was a googly that spun sharply back in, sneaking through the gap between bat and pad to rattle the off and middle stumps. Own attempted a cut shot but left a big gate, and Chakaravarthy took full advantage.

Tim David and Marcus Stoinis power Australia to a big total
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Australia managed to post a strong total on the board, thanks to brilliant contributions from Tim David (74) and Marcus Stoinis (64). David continued his aggressive approach even as partners fell around him, before a fine catch by Tilak Varma ended his innings. Australia suffered a brief collapse after losing Mitchell Marsh and Owen to consecutive deliveries from Chakaravarthy, but the lower order fought back strongly. Stoinis, joined by Matthew Short, added 64 quick runs to push the total to 186/6 by the end of the innings.
