Wendy Osefo is juggling a lot right now, from the current season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” to her ongoing legal woes, which include several felony fraud counts. Despite that, the reality star found time to promote her episode of the latest Bravo spin-off, “Wife Swap,” premiering on Sunday, November 9. While the mother of three didn’t touch on her recent arrest—which sent shockwaves through the Bravosphere—she did open up about the show and what she learned from the experience.

The new Bravo series, “Wife Swap,” is just like the 2004 original: it takes two wives living on opposite ends of the spectrum and forces them to swap places for a few days to experience a new way of life. The only difference is that one of the women is a “Real Housewives” star.

The first three episodes featured “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Angie Katsanevas, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” veteran Melissa Gorga, and “Real Housewives of Orange County” personality Emily Simpson, and the season will end with Wendy swapping lives with Alethea Shapiro from Florida.

Speaking with OK! Magazine, Wendy explained her decision to join the cast of the rebooted classic and even admitted it took some time to convince her husband to play along.

“I’m one of those people where I jump into things headfirst, then think about the consequences later,” she said. “I was like, ‘This will be great!’ I can look back on this when I’m 90 years old and say, ‘Look what I did!’ But my husband [Eddie Osefo] had more questions. He was like, ‘Wait, what is this? What are we doing? How long is this?’ It was a mixed bag. But we talked through it. Then it all made sense and we decided, ‘Hey, why not?'”

Wendy Osefo Wanted To Bring A New Vibe Into The Shapiro Household

So far, the “Wife Swap” episodes have showcased the glamorous “Real Housewives” stars struggling to adapt before finding their footing. While Wendy likely had her own struggles, she went into the experience hoping to leave a lasting impression.

“I wanted to come into the Shapiro household with love. I know that they had their own rules,” she said. “I also knew that these are kids who miss their mom. I didn’t want to be a burden. I wanted to be an addition. I wanted to make sure that I respected what they had going on, but I also wanted to bring in any positivity I could add to their household. I hope I was able to do that.”

Despite “Wife Swap” and “Real Housewives of Potomac” airing on the same network, the shows are vastly different, something Wendy seems grateful for.

“The story and what the viewers get to see [on RHOP] is the group dynamic,” she said. “With Wife Swap, it is centered around our experiences as mothers — that in and of itself is a unique sorority, for lack of a better word, to be a part of.”

As she went on, Wendy got candid about the ups and downs of motherhood, admitting that raising three children “is not easy,” and viewers would see that clearly.

She added, “It’s not for the faint of heart. You get to see two women, myself and Alethea, navigating the same thing, but doing it in the ways we know what is best, which is what makes the show so interesting.”

Wendy’s episode of “Wife Swap” is airing at an interesting time, considering the reality star and her husband, Eddie, were recently arrested in Maryland and charged with several counts of insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one count of giving a false statement to police.

According to a previous report from The Blast, law enforcement officials accused Wendy and her husband of reporting a fraudulent burglary in April 2024 to obtain substantial payouts from insurance companies.

Simpson, who appeared in an earlier episode of “Wife Swap” and is also a former copyright and family law lawyer, commented on Wendy’s case and admitted it seemed complex. “I did kind of dig into their case and read about it. It doesn’t look great. I’ll just say that,” she said.

“I do hope that she has some kind of solid defense. I know I read some things about they were saying that maybe the search was illegal. I don’t know.”
