There were some potentially pivotal results in the Premier League’s Saturday action as West Ham claimed a huge win in their battle against the drop, while third-placed Aston Villa dropped more points.

The Hammers won 2-0 at Burnley to go within three points of 17th-placed Nottingham Forest, who were beaten 3-1 by Leeds on Friday night.

Villa are now nine points adrift of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League after being pegged back in a 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth, with the Gunners strengthening their grip on the Premier League title with a 3-0 win at Sunderland. Villa also have Manchester United and Chelsea breathing down their necks behind them after both won their fourth straight league games against Tottenham and Wolves.

Elsewhere, there was drama in West London as Everton scored twice in the final 15 minutes to come from behind to beat Fulham 2-1.

Check out our rundown of West Ham vs Burnley, Bournemouth vs Villa and Fulham vs Everton.

Summerville continues hot streak as West Ham win again

West Ham have now made it three wins from four Premier League games with a crucial win at Burnley, whose survival hopes now look increasingly unlikely.

Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring with a delightful chip in the 13th minute before Taty Castellanos made it 2-0 before the break with a bullet header from a pinpoint El Hadji Malick Diouf cross.

The Hammers ensured they were the only team from the bottom four places to win with their survival looking an increasing possibility, with Forest now looking concerningly over their shoulders with the gap ahead of Nuno Espirito Santo’s men now just three points.

    Villa denied by debutant Rayan

Villa dropped points for the fourth game in five Premier League games as teenage debutant Rayan’s stunning solo goal earned a deserved 1-1 draw for Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Villa opened the scoring against the run of play through Morgan Rogers, who was slid in after some nice work from Jadon Sancho to ensured the Villans were ahead at the break.

But an onslaught followed from the hosts in the second half as they drew level through Rayan, signed from Vasco de Gama in January, who arrowed the ball into the bottom corner after gliding past Lucas Digne on the right-hand side.

Villa have gone level with second-placed Manchester City but are now nine points behind leaders Arsenal, while the gap ahead of United is now just three points with Champions League qualification now looking in the balance.

Dewsbury-Hall inspires late comeback win for Everton

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall inspired Everton to a late 2-1 comeback win over Fulham to take the Toffees in contention for European qualification.

The midfielder scored his first goal since returning from an injury absence in the 76th minute at Craven Cottage, cancelled out Vitaliiy Mykolenko’s own goal in the first half.

Dewsbury-Hall then had a hand in the winner as his corner caused Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno to fumble the ball into his own goal seven minutes from time.
