Whoopi Goldberg has met and worked with a number of celebrities throughout her career. The View co-host also recently shared a tribute to a late star on social media. However, the move was not without criticism, with her being blasted after the post.
Whoopi Goldberg Paid Tribute To A Social Media Star With A Video On Social Media
Goldberg is an actress and comedian with a career spanning decades. However, to many, she is currently best known for her role on The View.
Since 2007, Goldberg has served as a co-host and moderator for the show. Thanks to her role, she has often encountered celebrities from all walks of life.
Recently, however, Goldberg got attacked during a social media post honoring a late social media star. This was for Tika the Iggy, an Italian Greyhound, who was known for appearing in social media posts wearing various outfits.
The “fashion icon” got her start around 2016 but retired around September 2025. Tragically, on November 4, 2025, she died at the age of 14. Her passing was announced on her Instagram page, where it was shared, “Rest peacefully, our sweet, sweet Tika. We will never, ever forget you.” The post also asked fans to be respectful with their comments.
Paying tribute to Tika, Whoopi Goldberg’s Instagram account shared a video in which Tika appeared to meet Whoopi while on the set of The View. Wearing similar outfits, Whoopi jokingly shared, “B**** stole my look.” Assuring it was all in good fun, Whoopi and Tika struck a few poses as the video, originally from TikTok, came to a close.
Some Were Critical Of Whoopi, While Others Expressed Condolences For Tika
Taking to the comments, many also shared tributes to Tika. However, others took the opportunity to talk about The View.
One comment was especially critical of Whoopi, writing, “Karen, you’re doing America a real disservice every day when you lie on The View. President Trump and you used to be friendly at the very least and now you lie to the American people [every day] about him.”
The post continued, “Your opinion helps to shape the minds of Americans every day. There’s no amount of money that could ever replace my integrity. You used to be my absolute favorite but now [you’re a] shell of everything I thought you stood for.”
However, other comments paid tribute to Tika, with one writing, “The Rainbow Bridge is extra, extra, extra this week.” Others also highlighted that Whoopi’s birthday, November 13, was around the time of the post. Thanks to this, a few fans just wished her a “Happy birthday.”
