The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American defensive back Robert Javier and American wide receiver Jamoi Mayes.
Javier returns to the CFL after previously spending time on the Saskatchewan Roughriders practice roster in 2024. He attended training camp with the team in 2025, but was released as part of final roster cuts.
The six-foot-one, 195-pound cornerback originally signed with the Tennessee Titans after going unselected in the 2024 NFL Draft, but was cut by the team at the end of training camp. He reportedly ran a 4.60-second forty-yard dash at his pro day and recorded a vertical jump of 38.5 inches.
The native of Bronx, N.Y., played five collegiate seasons at Towson University, an FCS program in Maryland. He recorded 77 total tackles, one tackle for loss, 26 pass breakups, and six interceptions over 36 games for the Tigers, and was named second-team all-conference in his junior and senior seasons.
Mayes attended training camp with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2025, but was released as part of final cuts. He appeared in all three preseason games, recording one reception for 48 yards on five targets.
The five-foot-10, 206-pound target concluded his collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati in 2024, recording 29 receptions for 349 yards and one touchdown in 12 games.
The native of Griffin, Ga., transferred from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he caught 123 passes for 1,963 yards and nine touchdowns across 38 games. Mayes was named first-team all-conference in 2023 after posting 62 receptions for 1,037 yards and four touchdowns — the fourth-highest receiving total in school history.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers finished fourth in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 10-8 record, qualifying for the playoffs as the crossover team before losing the East Semi-Final to the Montreal Alouettes. Zach Collaros threw for 3,048 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions over 13 regular-season games, going 6-7 as a starter.
The Blue Bombers ranked fifth in net offence, third in net defence, and eighth with a turnover differential of minus-eleven. The club’s leading rusher was Brady Oliveira with 1,163 yards, the leading receiver was Nic Demski with 1,001 yards, and the leading tackler was Tony Jones with 104 tackles. Winnipeg ranked first in attendance with average crowds of 32,343, which was a 3.7 percent increase from the previous year.
