At MWC 2026, Xiaomi announced the global launch of the 17 series, which includes the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
From the Xiaomi 17, you can expect a 6.3-inch display with a 1,220 x 2,656 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The handset also has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, starts at 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and goes up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
There’s a quad 50MP camera setup with a trio of shooters on the back, including a primary, telephoto and ultrawide, as well as a selfie camera. Check out some shots I took with the Xiaomi 17 above and below.
The handset also has a large 6,300mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless. The Xiaomi 17 comes in Black, Venture Green, Alpine Pink, Ice Blue and White.
While the Xiaomi 17 boasts some pretty impressive specs, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is where it’s at.
The Ultra offers a 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, 3,500 nits of brightness and a 1,200 x 2,608-pixel resolution. It also comes with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary, a 200-megapixel periscope with 3.2-4.3x continuous optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide.
The Ultra also sports, surprisingly, a smaller 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless, and comes in Black, White and Starlit Green.
The Xiaomi 17 series isn’t officially available in Canada, though after trying out the 17, I wish it were. That said, there are ways to get Xiaomi devices in Canada, though your mileage may vary.
