Zadig & Voltaire has named Dan Sablon, Vogue France’s cultural director-at-large, as its new creative director.
Sablon will present his first collection for the contemporary label in March during Paris Fashion Week, and will continue to work for Vogue France.
He succeeds Zadig & Voltaire’s previous creative director, Cecilia Bönström, who held the position from 2006 to 2024, and will report to the brand’s founder and owner, Thierry Gillier.
Sablon has over 15 years of experience in the industry, having served as a designer and creative consultant for Marc Jacobs and worked with brands such as Carhartt WIP, Fenty x Puma and Rick Owens.
He was previously also fashion director for French magazine Lui, as well as a contributing editor at i-D Magazine.
Known for its rock-tinged approach to contemporary French style, Zadig & Voltaire returned to family management following the departure of previous chief executive Remy Baume in 2024, who grew the business to €450 million ($530.4 million) in annual sales.
Luxembourg-based fund Peninsula Capital partnered with Gillier to become a minority investor in 2020 with an eye to international expansion.
Sablon said in a statement he would seek to refine the brand’s “distinct Paris attitude” to “build a wardrobe with clarity and edge, grounded in strong archetypes and informed by culture today.”
