Temperatures are rising as summer bakes, next month  cold hearts will be beating with Tubi FrightFest. Today the dark heart of cinema unveil their 2026 line-up, one they promise will be a ‘Monster’.

The UK’s number 1 horror & fantasy film festival will return for it’s annual 5 day event, with a record breaking line-up. With horrific delights from around the world, celebration of nerve-jangling eeriness, hair-raising shock, and epic scares. Taking over Odeon LUXE Leicester Square and the ODEON Luxe West End between 27th August and 31st August.

2025 line-up consisted of 69 films, this year will be 82 films. Showcased across five screens, including the popular ‘First Blood’, Documentary, and Retrospective strands. 2026 there are 24 world premieres, with 16 countries represented, spanning 4 continents.

Things will kick-off with Abner Pastoll’s world premiere of Nervous. An subversive, cross-cultural tale of psychological alienation and dangerous obsession. A Good Woman Is Hard To Find director once again teams up with Sarah Bolger, filmed in South Korea Bolger plays a woman losing her ability to hear men’s voices. As she starts to lose her grip on reality, paranoia, hallucinations, and dangerous desires spiral out of control.

Tubi FrightFest will close with the UK premiere of Marion Le Corroller’s debut feature Species. The Gen Z shocker is a darkly comic sci-fi body-horror with a deeper allegorical message about workplace burn-out. The unique special effects come from The Substance Oscar winning Pierre-Olivier Persin.

There is a big Asian flavour to this year’s line-up. The second film of night one will be the latest zombie shocker from Train To Busan and Seoul Station filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho, Colony. Train To Busan celebrates its 10th Anniversary and there’s another chance to watch the cult classic on the big screen.

Other Asian delights on show include Joko Anwar’s gleefully Berlin Favourite Ghosts In The Cell. Korea’s highest grossing horror Salmokji: Whispering Water, plus cult Japanese chillers Crazy Lips and Gore From Outer Space.

The other highlights form this year’s festival include The Adams family, with their deeply affecting apocalyptic fable The Glorious Dead. Federico Zampaglione, supernatural chiller The Nameless Ballad. Christopher Smith‘s Spider satirical horror Spider Island, Padraig Reynolds homage to 1970s creature feature exploitation, Gator Face. Lulu Wilson returns for one more time as our antihero in Jenn Wexler‘s The Last Temptation Of Becky. Genre Queen Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Escape From New York) stars in Oddities, a twisty dark tale of antiques and aliens.

This year’s four Discovery strands continue to demonstrate Tubi FrightFest’s established ethos for promoting new talent. 5 World premieres on show this year, Annabella Rich’s The Death Of Us,  Paul Stainthorpe’s The Brook, searches for historical answers spiraling into a serial-killer mystery. A thought-provoking new perspective on the time-travel in William Brooke’s The Alice Paradox. Conscian Morgan’s Binding Eva, shares similar paths where a man on the run is trapped in a terrifying time loop. Finally, there is Ashley Nashville‘s Heraldry Paranormal, a boisterous unique take on the classic paranormal investigation horror with  a vivid representation for queer voices.

After it’s UK Premiere at Edinburgh Film Festival, FrightFesters get a chance to watch meta slasher reboot of Faces Of Death starring Charlie XCX. Larry Fessenden’s graveyard monster mash in the shape of Trauma Or, Monsters All, Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink gives us unusual chiller Terrestrial. J-Horror inspired shocker Night After Night from I Trapped The Devil filmmaker Josh Lobo.

Festival co-director Alan Jones commentated “Tubi FrightFest knows what creates resonance with its audience: that there has to be space for depth of exciting storytelling and that what is important in the ultimate scheme of festival priorities is to interact, scream, laugh and debate in a safe space, with a like-minded community”.

Head over to FrightFest official website for the full line-up and book tickets. Full Festival Passes go on sale from Saturday 18th July (noon), with Day Passes and Single tickets on sale from Saturday 25th July.
