6666 will not be coming to the small screen after all. Taylor Sheridan (above, left) has canceled plans to make a series about the ranch he purchased in 2020. On Yellowstone, he sent one of the characters to the ranch as part of the series’ storyline, and it is still a working ranch.
Sheridan revealed the change of heart in a recent podcast appearance. According to EW, he said the following about his decision not to make 6666:
“So now I’m trivializing and fictionalizing something where real people work, and they raise their families there, and I could never do that to them. I could never do that to the cowboys that dedicated themselves, and everybody that works on that ranch. I’m very protective of the Sixes, and it’s a big responsibility to be the person who has to protect that ranch, so I have to be very, very careful with it.”
