Victoria, B.C.-based audio tech company Beacn has unveiled its first headset.
Simply titled Beacn Headset, it’s a digital signal processing (DSP) powered wireless accessory that includes a mic and headphones. More importantly, though, it builds on Beacn’s existing audio tech by mixing broadcast-grade voice processing and tuneable sound.
Specifically, this tech can even out tone, reduce background noise, manage plosives, tame harshness, and restore warmth in real-time. Meanwhile, an omnidirectional mic capsule and custom boom arm allow for natural capture of a user’s voice, while Beacn’s Unbound Preamp allows for distortion-free speech. The headset also features binaural personalization with per‐ear parametric EQ to let you shape how sound comes out on each side.
Given that Beacn has a reputation for making quality products for creators, gamers, and professionals, this could be a good option for those who need a headset. It’s set to launch sometime this spring for $399, with pre-orders available now on Beacn’s website.
