FPL GW 33 is here and you should target this quintet to boost your run-in…

The biggest double gameweek of the FPL season is finally here, and if you’ve been following the plan, you should be in a strong spot already. This is the week to cash in on doubles, lean into the players with meaningful minutes, and grab a few under the radar picks that can separate you from the pack. The best part? Even if you’re not sitting on a perfect squad, you should still be able to field a strong 11 – or at least 13+ doublers if you’re bench boosting. Here are five under‑10% EO options that could give your rank a serious lift.

    Danny Welbeck (6.3m)

Welbeck comes in at 8.6% ownership and offers exactly the kind of upside you want in a double gameweek punt. The obvious caveat is minutes – there’s every chance he gets managed across the two fixtures – but that’s part of the gamble. Over the last six gameweeks, he’s averaged more than two shots in the box per match, which tells you the chances are still arriving. Tottenham and Chelsea both give up opportunities, and Brighton have been one of the better attacking sides over the same stretch. If Welbeck gets enough minutes, there’s every chance he gets among the points. He’s a proper rank-chasing pick.

    Marcus Tavernier (5.4m)

Tavernier is one of those players that makes you do a double take when you see the ownership. Just 5.3% feels far too low for a Bournemouth attacker with penalty share responsibility and a price tag of 5.4m. The stats are strong too – 3.2 shots per start and 0.43 xG per game is better than plenty of more popular midfield options. Bournemouth’s fixtures are decent now and remain fine right through to the end of the season, starting with Newcastle and then Leeds at home. That’s the kind of schedule that can quietly turn a good player into a very useful one. Tavernier feels under-owned and under-priced.

    Pascal Struijk (4.3m)

If you’re looking at the doubles through a defensive lens, Struijk at 2.9% owned stands out as one of the better value picks. Leeds’ fixtures look the most appealing among the double gameweek teams, especially with Wolves and Bournemouth up next, and the motivation will be there to tighten things up as they push to secure their Premier League status. Struijk brings decent DEFCON potential too, which matters a lot in a week like this where every point adds up. He’s not the flashiest pick on the page, but that’s exactly why he works. In a gameweek dominated by obvious names, he offers a cleaner route to points than most will consider.

    James Hill (4.2m)

Hill at 8.9% owned stands out as a very appealing differential this week, especially if you’re after a defender with more than one route to points. Newcastle are a side that tend to concede plenty of chances to centre backs, which gives Hill a nice platform, and Bournemouth often look for him as a target man from corners too. That attacking threat adds real value on top of his DEFCON numbers, which have been strong at 10.8 per 90 over the last six gameweeks. Newcastle away isn’t perfect, but the home fixture against Leeds is where he really catches the eye. If you want a defender with set-piece upside and steady underlying numbers, Hill is a smart punt.

    Rayan Aït-Nouri (5.7m)

Aït-Nouri is the classic “if the team news goes your way” punt. If Pep Guardiola confirms Nico O’Reilly is out, then this becomes a lot more appealing. His ownership is only 4.3%, though among active managers it would be even lower, which is exactly the kind of edge you want in a big double. When he plays, he’s on set pieces and has strong creative numbers, posting 0.50 xA per 90 over the last six gameweeks. That’s a very, very nice profile for a defender. The risk is obvious, but so is the upside. If O’Reilly is ruled out, Aït-Nouri suddenly becomes one of the best differentials in the game.
