The View Hosts Discuss Recent Mass Exodus Of Trump Supporters
Most of The View hosts are outspoken critics of President Trump and have been for years. However, a subtle change is happening with his supporters. Some of his most public supporters have started to turn against him. Podcaster Joe Rogan, journalist Megyn Kelly, and Representative Nancy Mace are just a few of his supporters who recently spoke out against his policies.
Whoopi Goldberg brought the subject to the “Hot Topics” table this week. She specifically mentioned Representative Ilhan Omar, one of Trump’s biggest targets, praising former House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene pulling her support for the President.
Marjorie Taylor Greene was on The View twice in recent months. Both times, she spoke out against certain Trump policies. She’s been outspoken against the war with Iran on social media. Her criticism hasn’t gone unnoticed by President Trump. He refused to endorse her for reelection, leading her to quit Congress before the end of her term.
Several of The View hosts were ready to accept Marjorie Taylor Greene to the other side with open arms. However, Sunny Hostin refused to entertain the idea. Whoopi Goldberg had to intervene when things got too tense.
Whoopi Goldberg Steps In During Heated Clash
“I always will welcome. You’ve seen the light? Come right into my tent, there’s a lot of room for the never-Trumpers and the non-Trumpers,” Joy Behar said about welcoming former Trump supporters. However, Sunny Hostin contended that Trump supporters should be rejected by the left.
“In terms of welcoming her with open arms like Joy wants to do and give a big bear hug, I’m not going to do that. I just think that if you voted for Donald Trump three times, when you voted for him this last election when we told you what was going to happen…. this country is on fire,” Sunny Hostin said.
She called supporting Trump “unforgivable.” Alyssa Farah Griffin disagreed, but Sunny Hostin interrupted her before she could share her thoughts. Whoopi Goldberg had to break up the tense moment. “Let her tell you what she wants to do. Calm down!” she told her co-host.
Joy Behar thought the argument was hilarious and could be heard laughing as Whoopi Goldberg admonished Sunny Hostin.
