Alyssa Farah Griffin is back on The View after two months away. She didn’t waste any time spilling tea on what she saw while working in President Trump’s first administration. She made some bold claims about ‘affairs, abuse’ in Congress. Keep reading to find out what she revealed about the open secrets in D.C.
Alyssa Farah Griffin Says Eric Swalwell’s Behavior ‘Open Secret’ In D.C.
Two male Representatives resigned from Congress this month amid shocking sexual misconduct allegations. Several women came forward with complaints about Eric Swalwell. The Democrat has represented California since 2013. The allegations came out after he became a frontrunner in the race for Governor of California.
Representative Swalwell denied the claims that he sexually harassed or assaulted the women. However, he admitted to consensual affairs with them. He dropped out of the Governor’s race but remained in Congress. But after several days of pressure from both sides of the aisle, he resigned from the House of Representatives.
The allegations against Eric Swalwell seemingly came out of nowhere and were a shock to a lot of his supporters. However, Alyssa Farah Griffin revealed that rumors about the former Congressman had been around for years and were an open secret in D.C.
She recently returned to The View from maternity leave. The new mom worked in President Trump’s first administration before resigning in 2020 and joining the ABC talk show in 2022.
“I do think the rumors matter, because, to be honest, I had heard and even experienced — nothing wrong or criminal — but I’ve been with Eric Swalwell when he seemed overserved,” she said on The View.
Alyssa Farah Griffin added, “It was an open secret that he had issues with women, that he was somebody who was susceptible, potentially to heavy drinking, to impropriety with women.”

The View Host Spills On ‘Affairs, Abuse’ In Congress
The allegations against Tony Gonzales, a Republican from Texas, came out several months ago after a staffer died, allegedly by suicide. He admitted to having an affair with the staffer and dropped his reelection bid. However, he declined to resign from his seat until this week. Tony Gonzales finally resigned days after Eric Swalwell.
The allegations and the subsequent resignations reignited the conversation regarding the behavior of members of Congress. Republican Nancy Mace put forward a measure to release House Ethics Committee records regarding sexual abuse and misconduct. The measure was killed in the House, with the majority of both Democrats and Republicans voting against it.
But now TMZ is on the scent. The outlet announced that they’re setting up shop in D.C. and putting the spotlight on politicians instead of celebrities. The surprising change was highly approved by many gossip mongers, including the hosts of The View.
Alyssa Farah Griffin showed her support during the “Hot Topics” discussion about it. “I think that until members of congress hold themselves to a higher standard, they’re not entitled to some of the decorum that they might be treated with by these people that are covering them.”
“I mean, look at these timelines. We have mistresses, affairs, abuse,” Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out about the numerous scandals in the last few years alone. She said it’s about time politicians got the same level of scrutiny as Kim Kardashian.
One of TMZ‘s first targets was Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who declined to get involved in the feud between President Trump and Pope Leo XIV.
Tell us in the comments what you think about the outlet’s newfound focus on exposing politicians.
