Yung Miami announced she’ll premiere her new music video ‘SpendDat’ on Twitch this Thursday night, taking her latest visual to the gaming world instead of traditional music platforms.

The City Girls rapper shared the news on X, telling fans to tune in at 8PM PT/11PM ET for the live premiere. She wrote: ‘I’ll be streaming #SpendDat Video Premiere on twitch! This Thursday night at 8PM PT/11PM ET. Money signs in the chat!!!! $$$$$’

The move marks an interesting crossover between hip-hop and gaming culture. While artists have experimented with Twitch for concerts and fan interactions, it’s still pretty rare to see a major music video premiere happen on the platform that’s best known for gaming streams and live reactions.

Yung Miami‘s choice makes sense when you think about it though. Twitch’s chat feature gives fans a way to react in real-time, turning what’s usually a passive video watch into something more interactive. Plus, the platform’s younger audience aligns well with hip-hop’s core demographic.

The SpendDat premiere comes as the rapper continues building her solo career alongside her City Girls work. She’s been keeping busy with new music and visuals, and this Twitch strategy shows she’s thinking creatively about how to connect with fans in fresh ways.

What’s really smart about this approach is how it taps into gaming culture’s energy. Twitch viewers are used to hyping up streamers in chat, and Miami’s call for money sign emojis plays right into that interactive vibe. It’s not just about watching a video – it’s about being part of a live moment.

The platform choice also reflects how artists are getting more experimental with where they drop content. YouTube and Instagram have been the go-to spots for music videos, but Twitch offers something different. The live element means fans who show up get to be part of the premiere experience, not just viewers catching up later.

For Miami, this could be a test run to see how well music content performs on Twitch. If the SpendDat premiere gets good engagement, don’t be surprised if more artists start booking Twitch slots for their video drops. The platform has already proven it can handle big events, and music feels like the next logical expansion.

The timing works well too. Thursday night gives fans something to look forward to mid-week, and the dual time zones (8PM PT/11PM ET) make it accessible for viewers across the country. Miami’s clearly thinking about making this as inclusive as possible.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of chat energy the premiere generates. Twitch audiences are known for their enthusiasm, and hip-hop fans don’t hold back when they’re feeling a track. The combination could create some seriously hype moments during the premiere.

The SpendDat video itself promises to deliver the kind of visual content Miami’s fans expect. While details about the video haven’t been shared yet, her previous work shows she knows how to create engaging visuals that match her music’s energy.

This Twitch move also shows how artists are adapting to reach audiences where they already spend time. Instead of expecting fans to come to traditional music platforms, Miami’s bringing the content to a space where her target audience is already active and engaged.

As Thursday approaches, it’ll be worth watching to see if other artists take notes on how this experiment plays out. If the SpendDat premiere succeeds on Twitch, it could open up new possibilities for how music videos get released and experienced.

Fans can catch the SpendDat video premiere this Thursday night on Twitch, and Miami’s definitely counting on them to bring the energy with those money sign emojis filling up the chat.
