Fans recently saw Christopher Meloni say goodbye to Law & Order: Organized Crime. Since then, they’ve been wondering what’s next for him, especially regarding the franchise. However, fans just got to see a bit of a reunion between him and his former SVU co-star, Mariska Hargitay.
Christopher Meloni & Mariska Hargitay Were Co-Stars For Years On Law & Order: SVU
Meloni is known for playing Elliot Stabler on the drama series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, first appearing as the character in 1999. He later starred in the spin-off, Organized Crime.
Earlier this month, Meloni announced that Organized Crime would be ending in a video on social media. This means the series concluded with the fifth season, which ended in June 2025.
Since the show’s cancellation was announced, fans have been wondering what was next for Meloni, especially when it comes to making further appearances on SVU. Recently, the actor turned to social media to reveal that he had reunited with one of his former co-stars, Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson on the show.
Taking to Instagram, Meloni could be seen sitting with Hargitay at a Los Angeles restaurant. Taking his show’s end with good humor, in a caption, he wrote, “What one does on a random Thursday when still in LA and freshly unemployed. Dinner hang with pals.”
Hargitay Previously Shared A Few Reactions To Organized Crime‘s End
The pair also had a special guest while out to eat. The carousel post, a joint post between the two actors, mostly comprised of photos of Meloni and Hargitay together at the table. However, the final photo featured Hargitay taking a selfie with actress Rachel McAdams.
Meloni could be seen donning a blue checkered blazer with a light blue undershirt. For her part, Hargitay wore what appeared to be an all-black outfit.
Since the news came out that Organized Crime was not going to get another season, Hargitay also weighed in on Meloni’s future on SVU. As previously reported, she shared that she had hope that there would be “some way” that he could make guest appearances on the show. During Meloni’s original social media share announcing the show’s end, Hargitay also wrote “P4L” in the comments, which many fans read as “Partners for Life.”
Seeing the little reunion, fans took to the comments to share their reactions to the post. A few also expressed hope to see more of Stabler soon. Some comments included:
