Rob Schneider has had a prominent career in comedy. However, he recently took to social media to discuss something he felt was no laughing matter. The SNL alum weighed in on the recent controversy surrounding Jimmy Kimmel following comments made concerning Melania Trump.
Rob Schneider Recently Shared A Letter To A Disney CEO On Social Media
Schneider is an actor and comedian. He first rose to fame appearing on Saturday Night Live during the early 1990s. Following this, he went on to appear in a number of comedies, including Big Daddy, The Animal, and the Deuce Bigalow films.
Recently, Schneider weighed in on the discussion concerning comedian Jimmy Kimmel. The late-night host recently came under fire for saying that First Lady Melania Trump had “a glow like an expectant widow.”
These comments were made prior to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting. Since then, Kimmel’s comments have since issued responses from Melania as well as President Donald Trump, calling on Kimmel to be fired from his show.
Schneider himself has also come out in support of the First Lady. He recently took to X to share a letter to Josh D’Amaro, the CEO of The Walt Disney Company.

Starting off, Schneider touched on his own background with Disney. As he wrote, “I am writing to you as a concerned American and longtime supporter of the Disney brand and former Disney employee to urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to immediately remove Jimmy Kimmel from ABC’s airwaves.”
However, Schneider felt that, what started as “partisan commentary,” has now become “a pattern of reckless, dehumanizing rhetoric that disrespects human life, and contributes to the toxic climate of hatred and violence threatening our nation.” The actor felt that keeping Kimmel on the network was no longer just a “programming decision.”
The Actor Agued What Some See As ‘Censorship’ Was Instead ‘Moral Leadership’
Schneider then brought up similar issues with Kimmel. This included the controversy sparked from comments following the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk. He felt, “This was not neutral commentary. It was a deliberate attempt to smear millions of Trump supporters and shift blame away from the actual killer before the facts were known.”

Regarding the more recent controversy, Schneider refuted Kimmel’s previous claim that he was only talking about the age difference between the president and his spouse. He continued, “The implication was unmistakable—and chilling: that Melania Trump appears radiant at the prospect of becoming a widow. In the days that followed, another armed gunman stormed the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, marking the third assassination attempt on President Trump in recent years.”
Discussing fears of “political violence,” Schneider also felt that dismissing Kimmel was “not censorship; it is moral leadership.” He concluded the post, “I respectfully urge you to act decisively. The eyes of the nation—and history—are watching.”
Dear Mr. Josh D’Amaro,
CEO, The Walt Disney Company.I am writing to you as a concerned American and longtime supporter of the Disney brand and former Disney employee to urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to immediately remove Jimmy Kimmel from ABC’s airwaves.
