Dolly Parton has officially canceled her short but exciting Las Vegas residency, scheduled for the end of this year. She already had to postpone it due to her health, but now it is officially over and done. So, what is the reason for this? Keep reading for more details.
Dolly Parton’s Health Has Been Up In The Air
Last year, Dolly Parton lost her husband of nearly sixty years, Carl Dean. No one knew how or if she would recover, given that he was the love of her life. Moreover, she had never really dated anyone other than him, so this was a major blow. Some friends allegedly worried that she might die of a broken heart. Fortunately, she seems to be doing better in that category, but her health began to suffer. Dolly was set to perform six shows in Las Vegas, set for December 2025, called “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas.”
Sadly, she had to postpone them to September 2026, but now, she has had another change of plans. Dolly, 80, took to social media to explain that she is on the road to recovery, which is great to hear. She started by saying this:
“I am here to give you an update on a few things going on in my life. First, it’s concerning my health. And I have some good news and a little bad news. The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day.”
However, there is bad news, and that is she won’t be up to par in time to perform. The medications and treatments she has to take and undergo leave her a “little bit swimmy-headed.” Therefore, it is best that she takes some time to heal and recover. Dolly Parton did compare herself to a classic car, but added:
“My immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past couple three years, and they’re working real hard on rebuilding and strengthening those and hopefully I’ll be up to snuff again soon.”
Go To Vegas Anyway!
Despite Dolly Parton’s absence in Las Vegas, she still wanted everyone to head down there and have a lot of fun. Moreover, she was hopeful she would catch up with her fans at another time. She is still making music, visiting Dollywood, and living her life; she just cannot perform live. Her followers sent so much love to the icon that she should know everything will be just fine:
- Much love and prayers for continued healing🦋💕🦋💕🦋
- I love you Dolly 🫶🏼
- You have such a beautiful outlook on life- wishing you healing!!❤️
- I’ll always love you, too. 😘 Get well soon!
