MI’s current net run rate of -0.649 is a major concern. Even if they manage to win all their remaining matches, they will likely be tied on points with other teams. To gain an edge, MI must secure victories by significant margins to boost their NRR.
Mumbai’s fate is no longer entirely in their own hands. They will need favorable outcomes in other matches, particularly hoping that teams like Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals dominate the mid-table sides. This would ensure that not more than four teams cross the 14-point mark.
