On The View, the co-hosts get into all sorts of discussions. With the show typically being filmed live, it’s unavoidable for a few flubs to happen now and again. During one recent episode, Joy Behar made a notable mistake during a recent interview. Notably, for some viewers, it brought to mind a similar mistake that took place a few years back.
Joy Behar Has Been Part Of The View Since The Very Start
Joy Behar has been part of The View since it began in 1997. While she left for a time in 2013, she ultimately returned to the talk show in 2015 and has been a mainstay on the show since.
During a recent episode, actress Brenda Song was a guest. At the time, she talked about starring in the second season of Netflix’s Running Point alongside Kate Hudson and Mindy Kaling.
Song’s work-life balance was also touched on, as she and her husband, Macaulay Culkin, share two young sons together. Behar commented, “You and Macaulay [Culkin] have two sons. So, you’re already an experienced mother. We have a mother-to-be sitting at the table.”
Behar then gestured to her co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin. However, Griffin wasn’t quite “a mother-to-be,” as she had just given birth to her newborn son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., in February. In fact, she had just returned to The View back in April after being on maternity leave.
This Wasn’t The First Time A Co-Host Mistakenly Thought Griffin Was Pregnant On The Show
This caused Griffin to chime in, “No, I had the baby!” Behar, in turn, looked embarrassed as she covered her face in her hands, with her co-hosts bursting into laughter.
Behar then tried to explain her train-of-thought. As she explained, “Wait a second, I keep telling her to bring that baby in. As far as I know, she hasn’t had it yet.”

Shifting focus back to Song, Behar asked the actress, “Do you have any tips for her?” Song told her to “enjoy every moment,” adding, “The hours are long, the days are long, but the months fly by.”
As longtime fans of the show may recall, this isn’t the first time when a co-host was mistaken for being pregnant on the show. Back in 2023, as previously reported, Whoopi Goldberg asked Griffin if she was expecting on live television, which Griffin laughed off at the time. She then chided her co-host for asking this while her mother-in-law was in the studio audience. Of course, this was a few years before she would indeed announce she was expecting her first child on the show.
