Ryan Seacrest Is Everywhere
When Ryan Seacrest began his hosting gig on American Idol, he was not alone. He co-hosted alongside Brian Dunkleman for one season until he exited. That was when Ryan became the sole host, and it worked far better that way. He also had his own radio show and eventually worked alongside Kelly Ripa on Live! Ryan remained there for six years before Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos, became the permanent replacement. Along with Idol, Ryan is now the host of Wheel of Fortune, taking over for Pat Sajak amid his retirement. Finally, he hosts Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, so literally, he is everywhere.
After all the work and the presence that Ryan has in the industry, he is finally getting recognized. Yes, he has many Emmy nominations and a win for producing the 2010 Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. However, the 51-year-old is nominated for Male Star of the Year for Wheel of Fortune and American Idol. This is from the 2026 Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards, and Idol also got a nod for Best Competition Series, Talent/Variety. The show’s official Instagram page honored the nominations with a special shout-out, which was very well-deserved.
Many praised these accomplishments, despite Idol getting slammed over the last few seasons. Fans have felt that the show is bland and has lacked the old excitement of the OG seasons. It is too kind and a tad too spiritual. Moreover, viewers are tired of it constantly being a sobfest and do not care for Carrie Underwood as a judge. Regardless, seeing Ryan Seacrest get nominated was more than deserved.
