With the rise of Marvel Studios shows on Disney+, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law became one of the most contentious. Taking a different approach to other Marvel productions, the show sparked a lot of debate among fans.
Recently, Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany was asked on The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast whether she would return to a future MCU project, and whether her character could work in an Avengers film.
Maslany didn’t rule out returning to a future project but says doing so would need the right person steering the project to justify it, saying, “I don’t know. I think it would take somebody like Jessica Gao to weave her into that world because she knows that character so deeply and loves her and gets her tone, but there is something about She-Hulk being the star of her own show that makes sense. Do you know what I mean? Because of the direct address, she is our narrator. So, I think it would be a real cool challenge to see her in some other context, but I do think like the sort of joy of She-Hulk is in the singularness of it.”
But, when asked if a second season of the show or a crossover appearance was more likely, she said: “I don’t know. I think people would be so mad at me being on their screens again.”
The 2022 series was created by Jessica Gao and followed a light legal comedy formula before the series finale broke the fourth wall, confronting the Marvel Formula and toxic fandom. The show also featured Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Ginger Gonzaga, Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra and Benedict Wong, with cameos from Charlie Cox as Daredevil and Megan Thee Stallion as herself.
