The San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves are knotted up at 2-2 headed to Game 5 in the Lone Star State tonight.

The Wolves captured Game 4 to even up the series and travel to Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, where they stole the series opener.

San Antonio received a huge break as star F Victor Wembanyama avoided a suspension following his ejection in Game 4 for elbowing Minnesota’s Naz Reid. Wemby scored 4 points in 12 minutes following his 39-point output in the Game 3 victory.

The Spurs blasted the Wolves following a Game 1 loss, routing Minnesota, 133-95 as 10.5-point favorites. Five of San Antonio’s six playoff victories came by double-digits, including all three wins at home.

Six Timberwolves scored in double-figures in the 114-109 Game 4 triumph, led by Anthony Edwards’ 36 points. He scored 68 points in the two games at Target Center, but was held to 30 points in the two contests in San Antonio.

Spurs/Timberwolves Under (218.5) – 8:00 p.m. ET

The Over hit in the last three games between these teams after the Under cashed in the series opener. In the two games in Minnesota, the Spurs and Wolves combined for 223 points apiece. Tonight’s total is the same from both Game 1 and Game 4, which remains the highest in the series.

San Antonio is coming off its worst shooting performance from downtown in this series, hitting 6-of-26 three-point attempts. The Spurs have been strong defensively in the playoffs, allowing 50% or lower on effective field goal percentage in eight of nine contests.

In the two games at San Antonio, the Wolves were horrible at the free throw line. Minnesota missed 24 free throws in the first two contests (28-of-52), compared to 38-of-43 in the two games at Target Center. Wemby’s impact will be seen tonight after his early exit in Game 4 and should be able to limit Minnesota’s offensive efficiency in a lower-scoring affair.
