Sadie Soverall (Every Year After) is being eyed to join Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender and Selena Gomez in Brady Corbet‘s next film.
Whilst reps for Corbet and Soverall declined to comment, Deadline reports that she is the choice for her part, which currently remains under wraps.
Whilst much of the upcoming project remains a mystery, Corbet revealed at Dublin’s Storyhouse Screenwriting festival that the film is “about American mysticism and the history of the occult in America” with the rumoured title being The Origin of the World.
Corbet also shared with The Hollywood Reporter that “The film spans from the 19th century into the present day – it’s just predominantly focused on the ’70s. The film is really, really genre-defying.”
One thing we do know is that the film is set to be as epic as Corbet’s The Brutalist, with the director sharing that he’s working on an “X-rated” 200-page script. The Brutalist clocks in at 3 hours and 35 minutes, including an interval and is a postwar drama that follows a visionary Hungarian architect, László Tóth (Adrien Brody), as he attempts to rebuild his life and cement his legacy after immigrating to America. The film won Brody the Oscar for best actor, and was also awarded for its original score and cinematography.
Previously seen in Saltburn and Fate: The Winx Saga, Soverall is a sought-after young English actress who is the female lead of Prime Video’s upcoming romantic drama Every Year After and is represented by Anonymous Content, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Independent Talent Group.
Andrew Morrison and Brian Young will produce Corbet’s latest. Production is expected to kick off in late summer or early fall.
