If you’re like me and have been looking at getting a Steam Deck, you might have to save up a bit more money than originally thought.
Essentially, the Steam Deck has gone back on sale after Valve killed off the LCD models and listed the OLED models as out of stock due to chip shortages.
However, there’s a catch. The price of the Steam Deck has jumped exponentially. The Steam Deck OLED 512GB now costs C$1129, while the 1TB model costs C$1349. Yikes.
Steam Hardware noted in a community post that the new prices “reflect the current state of component costs and other global logistical challenges across the industry as a whole.” The company also stated that there would be updates if anything changes.
Without the LCD model, this is a pretty steep price for the PC gaming giant’s popular handheld, especially considering the current state of everything. The price is even steeper than that of its competitor, the ROG Xbox Ally handheld, which is $799.99 for its 512 GB model.
