He described Suryavanshi as Indian cricket’s latest “wonderkid” and suggested that the youngster possesses the talent required to make a significant impact on the global stage. Saikia also noted that while several players delivered impressive IPL campaigns, Suryavanshi’s achievements stood apart because of his age, temperament and consistency throughout the season.
“Vaibhav is Indian cricket’s new wonderkid, and I am fully confident that he will make a huge impact on the world stage in the coming years. All of our selectors are involved with the IPL and have been closely monitoring every match, often from inside the stadium itself. When the next selection meetings take place for India’s tour of the UK, I am sure the selectors will do what is necessary and what is best for him, considering the performances he has delivered. Many players have had outstanding seasons, but Vaibhav is truly special.
