Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are starring together in a new Netflix rom-com called “Office Romance.” Content creator Devon Rodriguez confirmed the project on Instagram this week. He’d sat down with both actors for a conversation about the film, and his post is the first time the project has surfaced publicly.

Rodriguez kept his caption simple. He described having “a great talk” with Lopez and Goldstein and named the film and Netflix directly. The post collected over 52,000 Instagram likes. For a creator interview rather than a formal studio announcement, that’s a strong opening number.

Lopez has one of the most recognizable careers in the rom-com genre. “The Wedding Planner” and “Maid in Manhattan” made her a staple of the format in the early 2000s. “Marry Me” brought her back to it in 2022. The genre has been good to her, and she’s been good for it.

Returning to that space on Netflix makes practical sense. The streamer has made romantic comedies one of its most reliable categories. Its love stories travel well internationally. A film with Lopez’s name on it can land across markets at once, and that’s the kind of broad appeal Netflix consistently looks for.

Goldstein is best known internationally for Roy Kent on “Ted Lasso,” the Apple TV+ comedy series. Roy is gruff, funny, and quietly sentimental. The role made him one of the show’s most beloved characters and earned him significant award attention. He doesn’t have Lopez’s rom-com track record. That’s actually part of what makes the pairing interesting.

Workplace rom-coms run on slow-burn tension. That tension tends to land better with mismatched leads. On paper, Lopez and Goldstein qualify. She brings warmth and experience in the genre. He brings something rougher and less predictable. An office setting gives both of them room to work with that contrast.

Rodriguez built his following by painting strangers’ portraits on the streets of New York City. The project grew into a broader entertainment presence. His celebrity interviews feel unfiltered and conversational. That’s part of why his post about “Office Romance” carried some weight. It wasn’t a press release.

Netflix hasn’t released a trailer or announced a premiere date. Details about the film beyond its title and cast are still limited. But the response to Rodriguez’s post is real, and it came without a traditional marketing push.

Lopez has stayed active through the first half of 2026. This project adds another strong title to that stretch. Goldstein’s move into more film work alongside his television career feels like a natural next step. “Office Romance” has the right ingredients. The only thing left is seeing what they made.
