11/06/2026 – The workshop and pitching forum, organised by the Creative Europe MEDIA Desks of ten European countries, will take place from 15-18 June

The organisers of the international short-film development initiative Let’s Pitch Some Shorts! have unveiled the 11 projects selected for the programme’s 11th edition, which will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, from 15-17 June at VERN’ University, culminating in a public pitching forum on 18 June at Kaptol Cinema Boutique. The initiative, coordinated by Creative Europe Desk – MEDIA Croatia, continues to strengthen its position as a key platform for emerging European short-film talent.

This year’s edition received a record 78 applications from ten countries, from which 11 projects were selected. The workshop is designed to help directors, screenwriters and producers refine their projects and develop the skills needed to present them effectively to producers, distributors, sales agents and other industry professionals. Over the years, the programme has become an important networking and training opportunity for emerging filmmakers seeking international exposure and co-production opportunities. The selected projects come from Cyprus, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Malta, Slovenia and Serbia.

The participants will work under the guidance of industry professionals before presenting their projects to an international jury. The 2026 jury includes representatives from the Baltic Pitching Forum, Cannes’ SFC | Rendez-vous Industry, the International Screen Institute and Sayonara Film, alongside Croatian filmmaker Kruno Trninić.

Beyond the main pitching award of €3,000, participants will compete for a range of industry prizes and professional opportunities. These include participation in the International Screen Institute’s Market Ready programme in Vienna, accreditation for the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market, script consultancy from European Short Pitch, festival-strategy mentoring from Sayonara Film and online-market support from T-Port. In addition, one selected project will receive accreditations to the SFC | Rendez-vous Industry programme during the Cannes Film Festival, further reinforcing the initiative’s international outlook.

The workshop is organised by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Desks of Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, in collaboration with several national film and cultural institutions. Since its launch, Let’s Pitch Some Shorts! has evolved into one of the most visible regional platforms dedicated to short-film development, fostering new collaborations and helping emerging filmmakers bring their projects to the international marketplace.

The full selection is as follows:

Lost Boys – Christos Artemiou (Cyprus)
The Shallow Sea of Granny Dora – Petra Cicvarić (Croatia)
The Killing of An Angry Student – Vangelis Dikopoulos (Greece)
Time, Space and Everything in Between – Savva Dolomanov (Czech Republic)
Bloody Honour – Jurij Drevenšek (Slovenia)
A Storm in a Teacup – Teele Dunkley (Estonia)
