Kimberly McCullough had spent years as part of General Hospital, first starting when she was just seven years old. However, she’s also been part of other projects over the years. Recently, she shared that she was attached to an upcoming project, with her already getting reactions from her GH family.

Kimberly McCullough Originated Robin Scorpio, Even Appearing As The Character Outside Of General Hospital

McCullough is known to many for her role as Robin Scorpio on General Hospital. She originated the role as a child actress at the age of seven.

McCullough first appeared on the soap in 1985, appearing on and off again on the soap over the years. She also played the character in other shows, such as the Port Charles spin-off and All My Children.

In recent years, McCullough has taken a break from acting to focus on directing. Over the years, she’s been attached to a number of shows behind the scenes, including Pretty Little Liars and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Recently, it’s been announced that she’s joining another film project: the anticipated sequel to the 1997 cult-hit comedy Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. The film, which originally starred Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino, sees two friends concoct an elaborate plan to impress their former classmates at an upcoming reunion.

McCullough shared her involvement in a post on Instagram. At the time, she shared that she will reunite with Tim Federle, who will direct the upcoming film and had created High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

In the post, McCullough shared, “Congratulations @timfederle!!! Honored and excited to be by your side once again creating something truly special.” Included in the post was a screenshot of a report from The Hollywood Reporter discussing the project.

A Few General Hospital Alumni Congratulated McCullough Over The News

McCullough wrote that she had a personal connection to the film through her late dog, Jack. She shared, “It’s also not lost on me that the song Romy and Michele dance to in the original is my song for Jack. I can’t help but think he might be behind the scenes doing a little bit of his magic.”

Taking to the comments, many General Hospital alumni congratulated McCullough on the news. Jason Thompson shared an applause emoji, writing, “Keep going.” Finola Highes wrote, “Excited for this!!!”

Reportedly, Robin Schiff will return to pen the sequel. She also scripted a prequel, Romy and Michele: In the Beginning, which aired on ABC Family in 2005.

A few cast members are expected to return for the project. These include, in addition to Kudrow and Sorvino themselves, Janeane Garofalo, Alan Cumming, Camryn Manheim, and Julia Campbell. In addition, Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Huebel, Breckin Meyer, Patrick Warburton and Nathan Lee Graham are also attached to the project. However, their roles, as well as the story’s plot, are still being kept a secret.
