After Sri Lanka A won the toss and elected to bowl first on a surface offering dynamic assistance to the spinners, cricket enthusiasts were eager to see India’s young batting brigade fire. However, the first innings unfolded as a mixed bag of early aggression, a devastating middle-order collapse, and a late-order rescue mission that eventually saw India A bowled out for 265 in 49.2 overs.

The length was simply not there to hit through the line, and as the ball dipped and turned slightly, he sliced it high toward point. Wanuja Sahan completed an excellent catch to send the youngster packing.

    Disappointment was etched across Suryavanshi’s face as he walked off, and fans quickly took to social media to criticize his shot selection, calling the stroke highly irresponsible given the early stage of the match.

    Following Suryavanshi’s dismissal with the score at 29/1, India A found themselves trapped in a web of spin woven expertly by the Sri Lankan bowlers. Together, they dragged India A from a sub-150 humiliation to a competitive fighting total.

    The innings also featured a bizarre moment in the 35th over, when the umpires slapped India A with a 10-run penalty because Nigam repeatedly ran down the danger area of the pitch. Sri Lanka A’s Mohamed Shiraz wrapped up the tail cleanly, registering figures of 3 for 33, as India A’s innings folded for 265 with four balls left.
