India fast-bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah may be away from international action at the moment, but the star pacer has once again found himself in the spotlight thanks to a candid interaction with paparazzi. The Mumbai Indians (MI) speedster was recently spotted at the airport with his wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, and their son Angad, where a simple exchange with photographers quickly became a talking point among cricket fans.
Bumrah has been enjoying a short break after the conclusion of IPL 2026 and was rested from India’s ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan as part of workload management. While the Men in Blue have already made a strong start to the three-match series, the veteran fast bowler is spending some valuable time with his family before returning to international cricket next month.
Jasprit Bumrah’s funny airport interaction wins over fans
As Bumrah arrived at the airport with Sanjana and Angad, photographers gathered to capture pictures of the India star. Before posing for photographs, the pacer politely requested the paparazzi not to click pictures of his wife and son as they walked into the terminal. The photographers respected the request, prompting Sanjana to thank them for their cooperation.
Afterward, Bumrah briefly stopped to pose for the cameras. Dressed in a casual black oversized T-shirt, comfortable trousers, shoes, and a cap, the 32-year-old appeared relaxed and in good spirits. During the interaction, Bumrah noticed the photographers waiting outside and jokingly asked them who they were waiting for. The banter continued when the pacer advised them to take it easy rather than spending the morning standing outside airports.
“Subeh subeh aaram karo, naashta karo,” Bumrah said with a smile.
The light-hearted moment quickly circulated across social media, with fans praising the fast bowler’s friendly nature and sense of humour.

Bumrah rested after a challenging IPL 2026 campaign
Bumrah is not part of India’s squad for the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan and has been given a well-earned break following a demanding IPL season. The decision is also aimed at ensuring he remains fresh for India’s upcoming white-ball tour of England next month. While India will play the second ODI against Afghanistan in Lucknow on June 17, the match will feature star players like Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma and Rashid Khan.
The 2026 IPL season proved to be one of the toughest campaigns of Bumrah’s career. Representing Mumbai Indians, the right-arm pacer managed only four wickets in 13 matches, an unusually low return by his lofty standards. He finished the tournament with an average of 102.50 and an economy rate of 8.36.
Mumbai Indians also endured a disappointing campaign, finishing ninth on the points table with just four wins from 14 matches. Despite the difficult season, Bumrah remains one of the premier fast bowlers in world cricket and will be eager to bounce back when he returns to international action. While India will play Afghanistan 2nd ODI in Lucknow on 17th June, the match will feature star players like Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma and Rashid Khan.
