Joseph and Kendra Duggar haven’t had the best year, to say the least. After Joseph was arrested for child molestation, Kendra has been struggling not only with her personal life but also with her health. Now, it’s been revealed that the couple is actually selling their home after initially just renting it out. Keep reading to find out more about Joseph and Kendra’s current situation.
Kendra and Joseph Duggar Sell Their Family Home
Earlier this year, Joseph Duggar went to jail for child molestation after an incident that took place in 2020 in Panama City. He was on a family vacation when the whole thing went down with a 9-year-old.
Now, 6 years later, he and his wife, Kendra, are paying the price. Of course, crimes and jail will always cause hardship in a relationship. This time, though, it’s even worse.
Despite being arrested, Joseph is currently out of jail, but that comes with a hefty price tag – a $600,000 bond. That’s no small number, so what is the family doing to keep him out? This whole thing started back in March when they decided to rent out their home via a prison phone call between the two. The idea was to have a steady stream of income for Kendra while Joseph was in jail. At that time, they also started selling some of their possessions, presumably for extra income for the family.
Things have now changed, though, and they have decided to sell their home in Arkansas. According to People, the home is a 3-bed, 2-bath, and 1,738 square feet. It sits on 1.14 acres of land. There are a few other properties on the land which they rent out as short-term stays.
The Next Steps For Joseph Duggar
So, what comes next for the family? While out on a big bond, Joseph is most certainly not off the hook for his actions in 2020. He is actually headed to court this month. This court visit will be just to fix his bail because right now, he isn’t allowed to see his biological children. Of course, he isn’t allowed to see anyone under 18, but that includes his own four children.
However, it will be interesting to see if this actually goes through, as, unrelated to the 2020 charges, he already wasn’t allowed to see his children. He and his wife were already charged with ‘four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree.’
