The B.C. Lions are set to release extra tickets for their upcoming Touchdown Kelowna event at the Apple Bowl. They will be made available to the general public as of 2:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
“When we first announced this historic two-game series back in September, the goal was to be able to host 18,500 fans,” said team president Duane Vienneau in a statement.
“With the build nearing 100 percent completion, we are confident we will hit that and exceed expectations with new seats added in the grandstand and expansion of the party zone. The excitement and enthusiasm in Kelowna is off the charts.”

The two Touchdown Kelowna games are scheduled for Saturday, June 27 against the Calgary Stampeders and Saturday, July 4 against the Edmonton Elks. Both matchups will begin at 4:00 p.m. local time.
The Lions have previously indicated they hope to create a “mini-Grey Cup festival-type of feel” for the week in between the games.
B.C. announced in September that they would play two regular-season games in Kelowna while BC Place was being used to host the FIFA World Cup. The event is already underway with Vancouver set to host seven matches from June 13 to July 7.
The Apple Bowl, which hosted a record crowd of 6,200 for a Canadian Premier League soccer match in 2025, is the home of the CJFL’s Okanagan Sun.
“Playing in Kelowna and the Okanagan is an incredible opportunity to showcase the CFL experience and strengthen our connection with these communities,” said CFL commissioner Stewart Johnston in November.
“These will be must-see events in one of the most stunning regions in the country. The Lions continue to show that they are truly B.C.’s team through their tremendous efforts to engage fans across the province.”
The B.C. Lions (0-1) will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-1) at Hamilton Stadium on Friday, June 19 with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT. The Lions are coming off a last-minute loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in a repeat of last year’s West Final, while the Tiger-Cats are coming off a high-scoring win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The weather forecast in Hamilton calls for a high of 24 degrees with a 40 percent chance of showers. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 730 CKNW (English) or Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 600 (Punjabi) in Vancouver or the Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton.
