The South African wicketkeeper-batter attacked from the outset, striking two boundaries and a six in the very first over to put pressure on the Texas bowlers. Monank Patel also made the most of an early reprieve after being dropped in the third over. He capitalized on the opportunity by scoring a fluent 46 and adding a 49-run partnership with De Kock before stitching another important stand worth 64 runs alongside Pooran.
While wickets fell at the other end, Pooran paced his innings brilliantly. The left-hander began cautiously, ensuring there were no unnecessary risks during the middle overs. Once the target came within touching distance, he shifted gears and accelerated impressively. Pooran remained unbeaten on 68, finishing the chase with authority. His innings included a late flourish that featured three fours and two sixes, helping MI New York reach 162/2 with 14 balls to spare.
