Hallmark is famous for several stories over the years. While their staple, for many are their holiday-themed features, they’ve also produced a few sports-related stories over the years, though they often come hand-in-hand.
In fact, Hallmark and the NFL have an ongoing partnership with each other, which has seen a number of NFL-themed Christmas movies. This includes the Holiday Touchdown series, which has developed films featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. In addition, this collaboration has led to various cross-promotions, such as in-stadium activations.
Recently, Hallmark announced the latest installment of the Holiday Touchdown series: Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story. The media company will partner with the Chicago Bears for a new 2026 Christmas film.
According to Woman’s World, Darren Abbott, president and chief brand officer of Hallmark Media, shared in a press release, “After the tremendous success of our first two Holiday Touchdown movies, we knew we wanted to continue the tradition by partnering with another iconic NFL franchise and fan base. The Chicago Bears have a rich history, passionate supporters, and a culture that extends far beyond the football field, making them a perfect fit for a heartwarming holiday story. We can’t wait for audiences to experience this story and celebrate the passion and spirit that bring Bears fans together.”
The Film Will Be Part Of Hallmark Channel’s 17th Annual ‘Countdown to Christmas’
The project will be filmed entirely in the Chicago area. As the outlet noted, locals might get a chance to appear in the film as extras. Hallmark is known for putting out such casting calls for some of its productions.
That said, not much is known about the project at this time. However, more information is expected to come out as production kicks off during the summer.
While an official date hasn’t been officially announced, the film is confirmed to have a 2026 release. It is also expected to be part of the Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual “Countdown to Christmas” programming event this December. Usually, this holiday schedule is released around September.
