Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal, Quebec is the lone Canadian left in the singles draw (either on the men’s side or the women’s side) of Wimbledon in 2026. Auger-Aliassime, who is the number three seed, defeated Dino Prizmic of Croatia, 7-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the second round of Wimbledon on Canada Day. Auger-Aliassime broke Prizmic two times in four opportunities.
Auger-Aliassime won his Olympic bronze medal in mixed doubles at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Auger-Aliassime teamed up with Gabriela Dabrowski of Ottawa, Ontario.
In the third round in Wimbledon on Friday, Auger-Aliassime will be facing American Michael Zheng of Chesapeake, Virginia for the first time in their careers. The match will take place at Wimbledon’s Center Court. This will be the first time Auger-Aliassime will have played on what is considered one of the most famous courts in the world.
Zheng is currently ranked 144th on the ATP Tour. He has beaten two notable opponents at a grand slam event in 2026. At the Australian Open, Zheng defeated fellow American Sebastian Korda in five sets, 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 6-7, 6-3. Then in the first round of Wimbledon, Zheng upset the 26th seed and 2022 Wimbledon semifinalist Cameron Norrie of Great Britain, 6-7, 6-2, 6-7. 6-3, 7-6.
Over the last two years, Zheng has made a name for himself at the National Collegiate Athletic Association level. While attending Columbia University, he won back-to-back NCAA Division I titles in 2024 and 2025.
