Marissa Rubinetti Appeared On Another Reality Show Before She & Edward Gomez Became Part Of 90 Day Fiance
Viewers really got to know Rubinetti from Season 12 of 90 Day Fiance. Naturally, they were also introduced to her fiancé, Edward Gomez, a hospitality worker from the Dominican Republic.
Premiering back in May, the season is expected to wrap up this upcoming August. In the meantime, Rubinetti sat down with Swooon, where she opened up about her relationship, including some criticism she has faced.
Starting things off, Marissa noted that fans have certainly been talking about her relationship. She shared, “The fans have a lot to say. They have a lot to say about us.”
Rubinetti admitted that she and Edward were an “opposites attract” sort of situation. She noted, “I still look at us sometimes, too, and think we are so opposite. What are we seeing each other? But sometimes a connection is more than just having the same interests.”
As a Kleinfeld VP, Marissa had also previously appeared on Say Yes to the Dress, focusing on her day-to-day job. Despite this, she shared that reality TV is “not a dream” for her, noting that it wasn’t easy being focused on so “personally.” She also felt, “I think it makes it even more difficult for two people figuring out what they’re gonna do in 90 days.”
Since viewers have started following her relationship, Marissa also noted that it has been the subject of some harsh criticisms. Reacting to fan perceptions, she shared, “They think that I am completely bossy and controlling, and I don’t give Edward his way, and I just want to rule his life, which is not true…”
Marissa Felt That There Were Scenes That Didn’t Make It On The Show Explaining Her & Edward’s Dynamic
As Marissa explained, she mostly wants the best for Edward. She shared, “I want him to thrive in this country, I want him to become the best version of himself, and I want him to be successful. And me guiding him along the way isn’t necessarily trying to control his life, but it’s more of like him developing into the best version of himself.”
Marissa also felt that there were things that viewers don’t see on the show. In particular, fans don’t see Edward asking her for this structure in the first place. She explained, “Another thing that people don’t realize is that, when I’m trying to get Edward to exercise and eat healthy, that’s at his request.”

Marissa recalled, “He came in, and he said, ‘Oh, I really want to lose weight. I really want to get in shape. Can you help me?’ Because you know, I’m very into fitness, and he asked me, so I was naturally just doing the best thing that I knew that I could do for him… I’m not trying to like rule his life; I’m just trying to support what he’s asked me to.”
Marissa also felt that Edward helps bring out the best in her. She shared, “Edward encourages me to relax and calm down and not make everything a big ordeal because I have a tendency to get nervous, and anxieties heighten whenever I have some stress on my plate.” In fact, she admitted that she was against remarrying until meeting Edward.
